Alaskan Adventure

Brian and I headed up to Alaska last week for a few days of fun with Daron and Leslie.  After relaxing in Anchorage on our arrival day, we went to Whittier for the 26 Glacier Cruise.

We saw seals, otters, and porpoises.

 And, as promised, 26 glaciers.

 Most glaciers are receding, but there are 12 in Alaska that are advancing...we saw one of those.

 

The following day it was off to Seward and to a great restaurant, with lousy advertising, called the Salmon Bake.

 Best of all, Andrea and Richard were in Alaska for a wedding and they met us for a great dinner and European Ticket to Ride!

The following day we hiked to Exit Glacier.

 Another great trip!  Thanks for hosting Daron!!

SURPRISE!

We surprised Matt for his birthday last night at The Wit.

 It was a great night spent with great people!

A very happy 4th of July!



We spent the 4th of July at the lake and had a blast!

Then on Friday it was up to Minocqua's Blue Lake to enjoy the Northwoods for a few days.

 Benny loved every minute of it....swimming..

...fishing....

...and kayaking.  He seriously could not get enough of being out on the kayak.

 

 We all had a great time, but I think Benny had the best time of all :-)

Happy Birthday Kelly!

For Kelly's birthday last week Dan arranged a great dinner at Sapori. 

What Kelly thought was going to be a dinner for four, turned out to be dinner for 8 as 4 of her friends joined us in the private room that had been set up.

 Here's to another great year!

Big Foot Triathlon!

Last weekend Elese, Jenna, and I completed the Big Foot Sprint Triathlon and Stephanie completed the Olympic distance.  It was a fantastic day for a race and we all had a great time!

Thanks to all the fans for coming out and supporting us!

 That night Benny decided to start practicing for a puppy triathlon...his events will be swimming, running, and...

 ...paddleboarding!!!

Sunset Cruise

Last night we (Lynne, Matt, Brian, Dan, Brett, and I) went on a sunset cruise to support Sarah's Inn, a non profit that supports domestic violence victims.  It was an absolutely gorgeous night!

We started with a cruise down the river.

 Then we headed out on Lake Michigan!

 I'll never get tired of looking at this skyline!

 What a great night for a great cause!!
