Big Foot Triathlon!

Last weekend Elese, Jenna, and I completed the Big Foot Sprint Triathlon and Stephanie completed the Olympic distance.  It was a fantastic day for a race and we all had a great time!

Thanks to all the fans for coming out and supporting us!

 That night Benny decided to start practicing for a puppy triathlon...his events will be swimming, running, and...

 ...paddleboarding!!!

Sunset Cruise

Last night we (Lynne, Matt, Brian, Dan, Brett, and I) went on a sunset cruise to support Sarah's Inn, a non profit that supports domestic violence victims.  It was an absolutely gorgeous night!

We started with a cruise down the river.

 Then we headed out on Lake Michigan!

 I'll never get tired of looking at this skyline!

 What a great night for a great cause!!

City Breakfast

Brian and I stayed in the city last weekend and had a delicious breakfast at Cafe Brauer in Lincoln Park.

Welcome to the world Elias!

Elias Frederick Mefford was born at 2:38am on June 6th weighing in at 7lbs 3 oz!  He made a dramatic entrance into the world after 34 hours of labor and 2 extra weeks in the womb.  We're so glad you're here Elias!!!

Wake Girls Weekend 2013!!

Every Memorial Day weekend my girl friends from Wake Forest and I get together for Girls Weekend.  A few past destinations have been Knoxville, Ashville, Atlanta, Dallas, and Denver.  This year everyone came to Chicago! 

Carolyn, Emily L, Laura, and Andrea all arrived before dinner and we headed to Old Town Social for a great dinner.  Emily R arrived later that night and we picked up Brooke and Mills on Saturday morning en route to Lake Geneva.

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, but despite the cool temperatures we had a blast!

 The cutest guest was definitely Brooke's youngest son, Mills.  He was a great baby and was up for any adventures we took him on...including his first boat ride.

 No Girls Weekend would be complete without the Mexican Train!

This year we added a new train game...Ticket to Ride.

Thanks to modern technology we were able to include Margaret, and her kids Anne and Henry, in a little of our fun.

 

 We were able to get a run in during the sunshine on Sunday morning.

 And a boat ride on the new Cobalt!

Mills led the way as we headed next door to Pier 290 for drinks.

Nothing beats Girls Weekend....thanks to all of you for traveling to the Midwest this year.  Love you!

Birthday/Boat Weekend

My birthday weekend was a big weekend at the lake....great weather, great friends and family, a little yard work, and a brand new boat!!!

Benny was thrilled to be back up in Wisconsin.

 Despite a lot of cheering, the Blackhawks did not pull out a win for Dave and my birthdays (but they won the series so all is good...go Hawks!)

 No big event at the lake is complete without photos on the porch.

 Tres and Pat came to see us off on our inaugural ride...Tres of course dressed the part with a boat shirt and sear sucker pants.

 Benny got to come out on the 2nd ride on the boat and LOVED it!

 That night we had a birthday celebration for Dave and I.  Tres brought a piñata.

 Our resourceful way of breaking the piñata without a bat...

 The next morning Kelly and I decided to throw on the wetsuit and see how the new boat did towing a skier.
