Pura Vida

After a day in Chicago to regroup, we headed to Costa Rica for 9 days!  First stop was Arenal (an active volcano) where we stayed at the Hotel Silencio del Campo.  I figured that we were going to be tired so no activities were planned...which was the right call since we either slept or lounged by the pool the majority of the time.

Then it was off to the south Caribbean side...Puerto Viejo/Punta Uva to be exact.  We stayed at the Tree House Lodge.  We were sadly in the Garden House, not the Tree House, but it was still rustic and relaxing.  This guy was hanging out outside our lodge one morning.

Our first adventure was zip lining.  Fun times!

The next day we used our rented bikes to travel into town and explore....we found a great restaurant right on the beach and loved a lazy afternoon there.

Sean is definitely a beach/ocean bum...I had to drag him out of the ocean as the sun was setting.

The next day we were off to a river rafting adventure.  It was a blast and so gorgeous rafting down class 3 and 4 rapids.  No pictures sadly...but great memories!

Then, after a day on the river, it was a perfect idea to head to the Costa Rica Marriott in San Jose for a little pampering.  The hotel could not have treated us better...especially with the surprise chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting in our room.

The hotel grounds were absolutely gorgeous and nothing beats a morning trip to the pool with mimosa in hand.

I loved the Spanish tiles...

Our next destination was Quepos/Manuel Antonio but we got a great tip from Daron and Kara to stop in Jaco at Hotel Villa Caletas for a pit stop with an incredible view.

We were joined by a couple iguanas

Then it was our final destination...Tulemar in Quepos...and we definitely saved the best for last!

This location is perfect for all those who want to stay away from daily mess and noise of city. I also had organized a party last month at Chicago event space away from city noise. It was a great relaxing party and all my guests loved the idea of partying like this.
